Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali, formerly the Anglican Bishop of Rochester, visted St Anselms Pembury last Sunday and spoke after both Masses.
Bishop Michael spoke powerfully about the cost of such Christ centred confession for Christians in the Middle East today. He reminded us that those who suffered could have got themselves off the hook if they had just refused to proclaim Christ as Lord. But understanding the need for confession they stood for Him with courage. He called on Christians in the West to show similar conviction in their faith. Detailsof the visit can be read here.
St Anselm's are hosting a number of distinguished speakers over the next few months as part of their Year of Mercy celebrations. Details can be found on Fr Ed Tomlinson's blog.
