The ninth annual conference for rural Catholics takes place in Malton, Yorkshire from 4 - 6 February 2013. The conferences attract a mix of clergy and laity from across the country, usually by diocese or parish, and the programme includes a visit to the Food & Environment Agency laboratory, and a talk on Potential Threats to UK Agriculture by FERA staff member Dr Josef Ostia-Steawarski.
Howard Petch will speak on Food & Agriculture in the Global Economy; Mgr Tony Boylan on Parishes with a non-resident priest; Fr Tim Bywater: The only Catholic in the village and ecumenism; The Rev Elizabeth Clark: Sustainable Shopping.
Most rural parishes include a golf course so a yet-to-be-confirmed topic is: The world of golf! A major presentation on the subject of Rural Mental Health is also expected.
