Congratulations to Peter Sefton Williams, a member of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Wlasingham who worships at Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory Warwick Street, who has been given a Papal Award as a 'Knight of St Gregory the Great'. Peter has been given this very important honour for his work with 'Aid to the Church in Need' which he served as UK Chairman for over seven years from 2005-2013 having been a very valuable board member for many years before that. During his time as Chairman the charity faced many challenges at the international level culminating in its re-foundation as a political foundation under Pope Benedict XVI. During this period Peter played an exceptional part in helping the charity at the international level where he served on the General Council. Since stepping down as Chairman Peter has continued to work on behalf of the charity by leading the editing of its highly important report on Religious Freedom 'Persecuted and Forgotten'. As well as his work with Aid for the Church in Need, Peter is one of the founding members of the Friends of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. it is however for his unseen and continuing work for Aid to the Church in Need that he is being given this great honour.
Peter will be invested as a Knight of St Gregory at Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory Warwick Street sometime after Easter.
