EWTN feature:  Catherine Uttley writes, "The red brick Italianate basilica of St Agatha's in Landport, Portsmouth, was built for the famous Anglo- Catholic "slum priest" Father Robert Dolling and opened in 1894. Dolling's mission in Portsmouth – described in his book, Ten Years in a Portsmouth Slum – was to revive the influence of the Church in what was then a wild corner of that always vibrant naval town."
