Adult non-Catholics become Catholic by going through what is referred to as RCIA, which stands for The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
This course usually runs for a series of months and culminates at the Easter Vigil Mass when candidates receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion. With this, they are fully embraced as a member of the Catholic Church.
