Our Bishop, Governing Council & Curia

Our Bishop

Bishop David is the first Bishop of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. The first Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, Monsignor Keith Newton PA, was made Ordinary by Pope Benedict XVI in 2011 at the erection of the Ordinariate, but as a married priest could not be a bishop.

The Episcopal Ordination of Bishop David Waller took place at Westminster Cathedral. London, on Saturday 22nd June 2024, the Feast of St John Fisher and St Thomas More. The principal consecrator was His Eminence Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.

It is a great honour that Pope Francis has appointed one of our own priests to be the second Ordinary and shows his commitment to the Ordinariates established under Anglicanorum coetibus by his predecessor.

Our Governing Council

The governing council ceases to exist with the appointment of a new Ordinary; a new council needs to be established within 12 months.

Our Pastoral Councils

The pastoral council is to provide consultation of the faithful, and offer advice regarding the pastoral activity of The Ordinariate. As such, we have established a pastoral council representing the following areas.

Our Curia

Our Curia comprises the Vicar General, the Vicar(s) where appropriate, the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor where appropriate, and the Financial Administrator.
