The Manchester Ordinariate Mission is a group of Catholics in Manchester with an Anglican heritage. We desire to follow Christ in full communion with the Church he founded, whilst retaining aspects of the Anglican tradition which are in accordance with the Catholic faith. Fr Andrew Starkie, pastor of the mission, was formerly Vicar of St Gabriel’s (Church of England) Church, Middleton Junction, Manchester. He was amongst the ‘first wave’ of Ordinariate Clergy to be ordained, in July 2011.
The mission first met in St Peter’s Church, Middleton, and and then in St Joseph's Church, Heywood.
Now the home of the Ordinariate of our Lady of Walsingham in north Manchester is the Catholic Church of St Margaret Mary, New Moston, a parish church of the Diocese of Salford.
The 10.30am Sunday Mass is celebrated according to the 'Ordinariate Use' (Divine Worship).
